Making a Dependent Drop-Down List

In This next Tutorial we are going to create a dependent Drop-Down Box that changes while other changes in 5 simple steps.

Here are the steps.

1.) Create a list and its types in excel. I have created types of drinks

2.) The next step is to create the names for the list. It's simple if you don't know check out my previous tutorial.
imp:- The names of the list dependent list must be same as in the main list for e.g if Tea is the item in the main list then the dependent list must contain Tea same name for the dependent list.

3.) After names have been created for the individual list click a cell for creating a list I have clicked in Cell A1 .After that click on the Data tab. Click on Data Validation. and in Data validation select list under Allow: and in source fill the main list title with an = sign.

4.) After that click on another cell which is going to be the dependent cell for this main cell and again click on the Data Validation under the Data tab. and in the Source: fill =INDIRECT(A1) here my Main data is listed in cell A1 therefore it is A1 in brackets you can fill your custom one. After that click ok Don't worry about the error feel free to click Yes. (It is just showing because the A1 cell is empty nothing is selected).

5.) Done Your dependent list is working.
